Panama, April 8, 2024. During the first quarter of 2024, the Panama Convention Center (PCC) generated over 2,000 temporary jobs, to the benefit of several Panamanian families.

Rodolfo Del Valle, General Manager of the Panama Convention Center, stated: «We are proud to see how the Panama Convention Center has significantly contributed to the economic and touristic development of the country, as demonstrated by the results obtained in the first quarter of the year. Our commitment remains strong to position Panama as an emerging destination and to promote meetings tourism as a motor of change, creating jobs for all Panamanians and generating a circle of progress for Panama.

In its first quarter, the PCC hosted important national fairs such as Expocomer, as well as prestigious international events like the CAF Conference (Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean), showcasing its regional relevance.

According to data from PROMTUR Panama, several world-class events are confirmed for 2024 in Panama, with an estimated economic impact of more than US$50MM. Among these are FIEXPO Latin America and the FIATA World Congress, both to take place at the Panama Convention Center, considered one of the largest convention facilities in the region.

In that regard, the Panama Convention Center has scheduled for the rest of this year a series of events designed to offer high quality experiences that foster innovation and knowledge exchange among its clients and guests, highlighting the importance of meetings tourism in Panama.

Among the upcoming events is the Latin Tyre & Auto Parts Expo, which will require special logistics to accommodate an exhibition of approximately 30,000m2. «We are thrilled to say that we have the capacity and the necessary value chain to host events of great magnitude», added Del Valle. With this variety of events, the PCC continues to be a first-class destination and business hub, contributing to its international projection and the country’s sustainable growth.
