Panama Convention Center: A successful quarter in Tourism Promotion and Employment Generation

Panama, April 8, 2024. During the first quarter of 2024, the Panama Convention Center (PCC) generated more than 2,000 temporary job positions, benefiting multiple Panamanian families.

Rodolfo Del Valle, General Director of the Panama Convention Center, expressed: “It is a pride to see how the Panama Convention Center has contributed significantly to the economic and tourism development of the country, as demonstrated in the results obtained in the first quarter of the year. Our commitment remains firm in positioning Panama as an emerging destination and promoting meeting and convention tourism as an engine of change, activating jobs for all Panamanians and generating a circle of progress for Panama.”

In its first quarter, the PCC hosted prominent national fairs such as Expocomer, as well as prestigious international events such as the CAF Conference (Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean), which demonstrate its relevance at the regional level.
According to PROMTUR data, various world-class events are confirmed in Panama for 2024, with an estimated economic impact of more than 50 million dollars. These include FIEXPO Latin America and the FIATA World Congress, which will take place at the Panama Convention Center, considered one of the largest infrastructures in the region for congresses and conventions.

Along these same lines, the Panama Convention Center has scheduled for the remainder of this year a series of events designed to offer high-quality experiences that encourage innovation and the exchange of knowledge among its clients and visitors, and that highlight the importance of convention tourism in Panama.

Among the upcoming events is the Latin Tire & Auto Parts Expo, which will require special logistics to host an exhibition of approximately 30,000m2. “It fills us with excitement to be able to say that we have the capacity and value chain necessary to host large-scale events,” Del Valle added. With this variety of events, the PCC continues to be a first-class destination and connection center for business, contributing to its international projection and the sustainable growth of the country.

About the Panama Convention Center:
Considered one of the largest structures in the region for congresses and conventions, the PCC, with a privileged location and unmatched value, is a building that has 15,400 m2 of exhibition area, a 4,000 m2 banquet hall and 2,400 m2 in total of 16 meeting rooms, 1,700 parking spaces and a kitchen with the capacity to serve up to 5,000 guests.
