Panama City, November 11, 2022. For two consecutive weeks, Panama will be the focus of attention to the world by hosting the Nineteenth Meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP CITES 19) at the Panama Convention Center (PCC), one of the largest meetings in the world for biodiversity and which will take place for the first time in the region after 40 years.

This type of conference, such as COP 19, is a great opportunity for Panama to demonstrate its hospitality, its tourist and cultural destinations, and the unique value of being a business bridge for the entire world. The geographical position of Panama, the logistics, airport, commercial issues, and the wide range of hotels, converge successfully with the innovative structure of the PCC, which becomes an attraction for attracting international events, added del Valle.

This year the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (COP CITES 19) to be held in Panama from November 14 to 25, will analyze stricter trade regulations on the trade of approximately 600 species of animals and plants regarding of which it is believed that there is a growing threat of extinction due to international trade.
It is important to highlight that the Panama Convention Center is committed to a country that stands out in the region. For this reason, by 2023 it will host other international events such as: the Our Oceans 2023 Conference, the Tobacco Congress and the 2023 World Robotics Olympics.
