Panama, June 25, 2023-The Panama Convention Center (PCC) will host for 5 consecutive days the prestigious World Congress of Innovation and Sustainability (SRI), the main meeting that integrates multiple disciplines of the global sustainability community. This major event will bring together more than 2000 global business leaders and government experts on the sustainability industry.
The PCC, recognized as the main connection center for business in the region, is proud to host an event of this magnitude that promotes innovation and sustainability. With high international standards, the PCC has established itself as a benchmark in the events and conventions industry, providing a unique and conducive space for the exchange of knowledge and business opportunities.
As part of his commitment to sustainability, Rodolfo Del Valle, General Director of the Panama Convention Center, pointed out: "We are delighted to host the World Congress on Innovation and Sustainability. In addition to its role as a motor for the generation of jobs thanks to the realization of these great events, the PCC is also committed to protecting the environment. As part of its focus on sustainability, the center has implemented various initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint and promote environmentally friendly practices.
Among the outstanding actions are the installation of 6 electric vehicle chargers for visitors, the placement of approximately 5 meters2 de smoked paper on the façade of the building to reduce the thermal load and a series of measures during events that allow a more sustainable operation. Likewise, the PCC has established a rigorous comprehensive waste management system, guaranteeing responsible and efficient waste management.
The Panama Convention Center recently established, as part of its roadmap towards a sustainable operation, the replacement of single-use plastics with biodegradable containers and plastic bottles with tetrapack containers, whose material is made from sugar cane. .
The third edition of the ISR Congress, ISR2023, will be organized by the National Secretariat for Science, Technology and Innovation of the Republic of Panama (SENACYT) and the Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research (IAI) in June 2023, bringing this event to the Latin American and Caribbean Region, with the goal of inspiring action and promoting a sustainability transformation.

Considered one of the largest structures in the region for congresses and conventions, the PCC, with a privileged location and unbeatable value, is a building that has 15,400 square meters of exhibition area, a 4,000-square-meter banquet hall and 2,400 square meters in total of 16 meeting rooms, 1,700 parking spaces and a kitchen with the capacity to serve up to 5,000 diners.
