The Panama Convention Center will host the 2024 International Exhibition Forum

Panama, May 14, 2024. Next Wednesday, June 5, the Panama Convention Center (PCC) will become the epicenter of the global dialogue on the fundamental role of exhibitions in building sustainable and accessible futures with the celebration of the "International Exhibition Forum 2024", an event organized by members of the World Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI).

“The holding of this event contributes to the positioning of Panama as a leading destination for meetings tourism, which also promotes the transformation of events by promoting sustainable practices and diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives,” stated Rodolfo Del Valle, General Director of the Panama Convention Center.

In this sense, the convention center has prioritized attention to all needs, from physical accessibility with routes and spaces adapted for people with reduced mobility, to linguistic inclusion with translation services in sign language and subtitles in all talks. . Additionally, as part of its commitment to sustainability, environmentally responsible practices will be implemented throughout the event, reflecting PCC's ongoing efforts to reduce its environmental impact.

Del Valle added that the 2024 International Exhibition Forum is organized by members of UFI in Panama, including Meetings Panama - the only global media of UFI in the country - the Panamanian Association of Professionals in Congresses and Events (APPCE), and the PCC , which has established itself as the leading venue in the region to connect visitors from all over the world, while guaranteeing inclusivity and accessibility for all.

The activity is aimed at a wide audience that includes convention center managers, event, fair and exhibition organizers, as well as sustainability directors of multinational companies and business associations. In addition, the participation of local authorities, representatives of institutions and NGOs committed to sustainability is expected.

The preliminary agenda includes a keynote lecture by Ana María Arango, Director of UFI LATAM, followed by the discussion panel "Regional Perspectives: Promoting Sustainability through Fairs." This panel, moderated by Arango, will feature the participation of representatives of fair organizers in the country, with the aim of analyzing how exhibitions can be catalysts to address socioeconomic, environmental and cultural challenges in an inclusive manner, promoting innovation, collaboration and sustainable development in various communities and industrial sectors.

This event will take place within the framework of World Exhibitions Day, known in English as Global Exhibitions Day (GED), which is celebrated annually on the first Wednesday in June. Its ninth edition will be held under the theme "Exhibitions are catalysts for sustainable futures", reinforcing the role of events and exhibitions to connect people and collaborate on global solutions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). , driving global progress.
