The Panama Convention Center reaffirms its leadership in the region and its commitment to excellence in the meetings and events industry

Panama, June 18, 2023-The Panama Convention Center (PCC), reaffirms its commitment as a connection center for business in the region with high international standards, connecting people from all over the world through live experiences, through meeting tourism, as it hosts for the second consecutive year of FIEXPO Latin America 2023. An event that seeks to promote the development of a more sustainable meetings industry in Latin America.

The Panama Convention Center is recognized for its modern and innovative structure, which places it at the forefront of convention centers in the region. Its capacity to host large-scale events, combined with state-of-the-art facilities and a strategic location, make it the ideal place to meet leaders, entrepreneurs and visionaries of the MICE industry.

FIExpo Latin America 2023 stands out for its commitment to sustainability and the implementation of sustainable practices in the execution of the event. From planning to operation, the highest standards in terms of sustainability are followed, ensuring that all activities are carried out in an environmentally responsible manner.

 

The PCC plays a fundamental role in promoting sustainable practices in its daily operation. The center has committed to achieving a much more sustainable operation, implementing concrete measures to reduce its carbon footprint and minimize environmental impact. Examples of actions carried out by the PCC include the installation of 6 electric vehicle chargers for visitors, the placement of a total of 5,500 square meters of smoked paper on the façade of the building to reduce the thermal load and a series of measures during the events that allow a more sustainable operation. Likewise, the PCC has established a rigorous comprehensive waste management system, guaranteeing responsible and efficient waste management.

Through conferences, exhibitions and networking, this meeting will become a key meeting point to establish strategic alliances, promote collaboration and chart the course towards a prosperous future in the region. 

 

During the first quarter of this 2023, the PCC generated 1 direct and indirect jobs, leaving an economic benefit in Panamanian families of more than approximately 730 thousand dollars. In addition, it received more than 300 visitors who attended a variety of national and international events, which contributed positively to the country's tourism sector.

 ABOUT THE PANAMA CONVENTION CENTER

Considered one of the largest structures in the region for congresses and conventions, the PCC, with a privileged location and unbeatable value, is a building that has 15,400 square meters of exhibition area, a 4,000-square-meter banquet hall and 2,400 square meters in total of 16 meeting rooms, 1,700 parking spaces and a kitchen with the capacity to serve up to 5,000 diners. This building is operated by SMG Latin America, a subsidiary of ASM Global, a leading company in the management of convention centers, arenas, and stadiums.
